Motor Applications in Speed Gates
Fast, secure, and precise entry control powered by advanced motors
1. Component Overview
Speed gates are a vital part of modern high-end access control systems. They feature a compact structure, stylish design, and fast throughput. Key components include:
Housing Structure: Typically made of stainless steel or aluminum alloy with high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Precision internal design houses the drive and control systems.
Wing Mechanism: Includes swing or sliding doors made of tempered or acrylic glass. Provides fast, aesthetically pleasing operation.
Drive System: Core motor and transmission mechanism controlling wing speed, direction, and angle—ensures smooth and safe operation.
Identification & Control: Supports face recognition, card scanning, QR codes, and network validation for user authentication and motor triggering.
Sensors: Multiple IR sensors and position detectors enable anti-tailgating, anti-pinch protection, and real-time passage monitoring.
Safety & Power: Includes emergency buttons, power-off auto-release, anti-collision detection, ensuring safe operation in all scenarios.
2. Working Principle
Speed gates operate through linkage between motor drives and access identification systems.
When a person approaches, the system activates. After identity verification (via card, face, or QR), the controller sends a command. The motor responds, opening the glass wings smoothly and quickly via a reducer and drive system. IR sensors monitor movement, ensuring no pinch or tailgating occurs.
Once the passage is complete and safety is confirmed, the motor resets the wings. If any anomalies (e.g. intrusion, pushing, ID failure) are detected, the motor locks the wings and triggers the alarm system.
High responsiveness, precise positioning, and anti-interference capability are critical to stable high-frequency operation.
3. Role of Motors in the System
Motors are the core of motion and control in speed gates, determining operational efficiency, safety, and smoothness.
Wing Actuation: Motors drive wings to open/close in 0.3–0.6 seconds—ideal for high-traffic environments.
Precise Control: With high-resolution encoders, motors achieve fine angular and speed control with soft start/stop and exact positioning.
Safety Response: Intelligent feedback enables quick detection of force anomalies or illegal actions, triggering reverse, stop, or anti-pinch responses.
Durability & Reliability: Long-life design with low-heat structure, wear-resistant brushes, and wide temperature range for daily high-cycle use.
System Integration: Supports RS485, CANopen, PWM, or pulse interfaces for seamless integration with access controllers.
